When we're riding technical lines in Moab or Sedona, we need a short that won't restrict movement and that can keep us comfortable through the tightest sections. The synthetic fabric is durable, for that inevitable scrape against a rock, and dries quickly so you won't feel clammy or too chilled. Two zippered front pockets stow anything you need within arm's reach and don't want tucked away in a pack, while the laser-cut vents help dump heat on the climbs.
